Truck Driver Files Personal Injury Lawsuit

June 3rd, 2008 · No Comments

Waste Management of Illinois is facing a lawsuit after a man was seriously injured at the Milam Landfill in Granite City, IL. Greg Lutes, the injured man, was operating his truck in the landfill when he stopped to secure a loose swing tailgate on the vehicle.

Lutes claims that when he stopped to secure the tailgate, an employee of Waste Management in another vehicle collided with the tailgate, pinning his arm between the two trucks. He claims to have suffered serious injuries as a result of the ordeal.

He also claims that Waste Mangement and the employee are at fault for his injuries. He states that the man was negligent by failing to stop in order to avoid a collision and failing to sound the horn to warn him that the vehicle was approaching. He is seeking compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, and pain and suffering.
